Big airport, easy to get around. Very clean and all staff plus boarder control very friendly. Duty free is good and cheaper than UK

I see many people complaining about the French sector of Cointrin, but it is very useful for catching “domestic” flights within France as well as for MUCH cheaper car rentals than on the Swiss side. If you want to drive on the Swiss side, you will have to buy the CHF40 highway sticker. Amenities are few and service can be lax, but they are very laid-back. We certainly enjoyed driving our little rented Clio all over France, Spain, and Switzerland (yes, we bought the sticker) for four weeks. It was a great deal. Trying to return the car was not too easy. On the morning of our return flight to the US, we found our car rental station abandoned, with a note saying, “Will Return. If assistance is needed, please inquire at the neighboring car rental stand.” That was also abandoned. After waiting 30 minutes, we simply left a note saying, “So sorry… we waited 30 minutes and nobody appeared to help us return the car. We must leave to catch our flight. We left you car parked immediately in front of the airport entrance. Here are your keys.” SIX MONTHS LATER, we get a call from the rental agency in the French Sector of Cointrin. The representative asked if we had been enjoying the car all this time, and did we, perchance like it so well, that we declined to return it and would like to purchase it? We explained what happened when we tried to return it, and the representative, very politely—seemingly unbothered or surprised—responded, “AH! Very well. We are glad you enjoyed your excursion. Have a nice day.” No extra charges, no argument or recriminations. They were very relaxed, kind and professional. Things just run differently in that little corner of GVA. I’d do it again in a second. BRAVO!!

Well managed. Short queues going through security. Good lounges too. But there were not enough seats whilst waiting at the Gate. We had to sit on the floor.

Awful 1 hour 10 minutes queuing to get through passport control. Bags were still not ready. Got out of airport 1 hour 45 minutes after landing which was longer than my flight of 1 hours 30. Baggage reclaim dirty, dingy and chaotic, you could barely move in there. I will not be using this airport again if at all possible. You imagine Swiss cleanliness and efficiency, I saw the exact opposite.

One of the worst airport I’ve ever visited. Security checks are super slow, no services, shops bar and restaurants close at 7 pm. Unbelievable.

Three hours waiting and no music. So boring and the restaurants are just a few canteen style. Nothing fancy about this place...

Needed wheelchair assistance. Had to wait on the plane for over an hour. Next departing flight started boarding before they came for me.

Its ok but not fast at all. The first control was very slow. The controller talking with a colleague instead of travelers pass by.
