They open at 7:30. We arrived at 8 and there was no line. We talked to two different people and both were very helpful. The form that we submitted online 3 weeks ago was not the correct one despite being very similar to the paper form that we needed to submit in person. You should go in person and talk to them to make sure you have the correct form. The photocopier didn't work but the Migros Print Shop up the street had a copy machine outside that we could use even though the store was closed.
They said the paper form will take 3 weeks to process.

Update:
We did get ahold of them once by phone, we tried several times.
We received the response to our paperwork 4 weeks after we submitted it.

Worst place ever. They put some incompetent employees at the window always telling you that there is nothing they can do, or they don't know how to handle this or that, or that they don't have a computer beside them to access your information. Then why are you even working there it's really weird. I could give them a negative value if it's possible. Its the most humiliating place in Switzerland.

- Cannot contact them via phone (hang-up automatically for the past 2 months at least)
- They did not answer any email
- They did not answer any of my "contact form" (from the website)
- I've sent them a letter : no answer.
- They do not accept physical visitors without appointment (but you CANNOT get any appointment...)

IS THAT A JOKE ??

just useless. they never reply to phone, and when you go there physically (cause they don't reply at phone), they always give you different answers depending on the mood or whatever. useless.

It is shameful how unprofessional, inattentive and uncooperative many of the people working there are. My family and I couldn't get any help until we finally found a person willing to help us, it took us over eight months to get the permit. One would expect more from the Swiss government.

Edit: After having had my appointment here I am updating the rating to 3 stars. What I wrote below about communication still holds true (it seems impossible to contact the office without physically being there) but once you manage to arrive for an appointment the employees are helpful, friendly and competent.

No email to contact. A phone number exists but after ringing for a few seconds the call always automatically hangs up.

The most useless, not helpful, time consuming, and slow office I’ve ever seen. A shame for the entire Switzerland.

I’ve never had THAT EXTREMELY bad experience with an administration office in my whole life.

Via phone, I was told that u003cI’m waisting their time for having too many questionsu003e, was rudely interrupted multiple times, I heard that ‘clearly I don’t understand anything’ after the lady consistently wasn’t answering my questions, she gave me a really strong impression that I’m not worthy her time throughout the whole call.

After I politely asked why she behaved in such matter, she started repeating u003cthank youu003e every time I was trying to say something, with intention of ending our conversation immediately.
