Honestly, left extremely disappointed and felt totally cheated out of my money after the listless customer experience provided. We were crowded into a small tired and shabby corner of the restaurant by the entrance with all the other guests. Tables were crowded closely together where you can not avoid hearing everyone's conversation and they can hear yours. Not pleasant when the rest of the spacious restaurant is left empty. Who makes these decisions, putting guest experience in the last place? We weren't told that only items on the menu with an asterisks were available so we had to change from what we wanted to eat to what was allowed to be ordered, again a decision which clearly shows they don't care much for the guests' experience.

For starters, I ordered soup of the day, which I was told was a vegetable soup. I asked which vegetables were used and the answer I got was "vegetable". It was a dark green non-descript bowl of gloom where it was impossible to taste which vegetables were used. This was overpowered by a heavy handed helping of herbs including fresh dill which dominated this dish. Zero pride, zero skill and just awful.

For main course I ordered a battered fish dish with fries. The fries were hot and didn't taste bad but they were overloaded with salt. The fish was not pleasant and over-fried, leaving a slightly burned aftertaste on the batter followed by a funky tasting fishy taste. My partner had a salad which wasn't bad and a Angus burger that was "acceptable" - but for the price point one can easily find much better food in Zürich.

In summary, an extremely disappointing experience where the restaurant demonstrated zero pride in providing a quality product to their customers. I wouldn't go back if I was paid to and recommend to avoid at all costs.

Beer was flat and when I pointed it out the waitress explained me rudely that I have to pay it because I drank already some of it. Further they don’t offer the same drinks that they have on their menu. Expensive and bad service.

Staff seemed inconvenienced by us, wanted to charge for tap water and forgot to put basil on a dish which one of the main components stated in the menu was basil.

Overall very bad because of the giant lack of quality experienced with the service. There was an issue with the payment method, we had to wait over 35 minutes to find out how to pay and figure out a solution because they had a problem with their terminal. The staff got very unfriendly and unfortunately this ruined the whole experience, and gave the good food a bitter taste. Definetly not visiting this place again.

Yesterday we stopped by for a cup of tea after attending an exhibition. The waitress (a lady from South America) was a bit off for god knows which reason. She brought us our tea, however the teapots were half full. When we addressed the matter we got engaged into an argument why we were not correct. Instead of just filling in the teapots, she argued that we were wrong. She was extremely rude, spoke in a very loud voice so that everyone around could enjoy the conversation. We did not manage to convince her that we were right. The service at its best. Enjoy!

Today wasn't up to standard for service and food. We were served our lunch meal 40 min. after placing our order. We mentioned we had only an hour for lunch. The fish had tiny bones, a backed potato was served with instead of potatoes gebraten. Unfortunately a stressed lunch with a good friend.

Kunsthaus is always beautifully curated and professionally kept. It's definitely a nice experience when in Zurich. Also check out the new extension if you have a chance. Kunsthaus is convenient to reach by tram or on foot from Zurich main station.
