Very nice place almost inside the zoo. Some apes are jumping around (but in a safe distance). Very friendly service despite the big size of the terrace. "Öpfelläberli" highly recommended

We came here for my parent's anniversary and we were very happy with choosing this place. We got a reservation even though it was fairly late, the variety and quality of food was amazing. Our server was amazingly nice and friendly. The view from the restaurant opens to the zoo, we saw some monkeys and a goat in the snow outside.

A restaurant with view of monkeys! This traditional Swiss restaurant is located in the Zürich zoo, but it's also accessible to outside guest. Lovely terrace overlooking the African savanna area of the zoo. The menu consist of hearty Swiss meat dishes, with a few vegetarian options. Nicely presented food. Friendly and fast service.

I typically visit Zurich once a year and one of my favorite activities to do while I'm there is go to the zoo. I discovered this restaurant several years ago on my first visit to the zoo. I'm glad we decided to eat there because the food was fantastic. We have eaten at this restaurant every year since when we visit Zurich and go to the zoo. One year we were there on a warm day and we were able to sit outside and watch the animals while we ate. Most years. We have sat in the dining room which is very nice as well. On my most recent visit about a week ago I had the schnitzel and it was very good. I have been to many zoos but I have never been to one that had a restaurant of this quality on the premises. If you like higher end food, I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. You don't need to visit the zoo in order to eat here.

Tasty food and nice staff. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well as sortiment of classic local dishes. In nice weather it is possible to sit outside on the terrace.

No English menu for desserts or drinks, only for the main courses. Staff barely speak English. For tourist attraction area which Zoo is, I believe its expected to have international language support. Everything is extremely expensive, but not brilliant. Beetroot soup was good, the only thing I totally recommend to try.

Great food, super friendly. Also kids get to draw.

Its good to relax from the Zoo.
